Questions & Answers for Navigon Navigon 2100 Max UK & ROI Sat Nav

Question
Can this sat nav be charged using a PC? If so do you get the relevant cables?

It charges via a standard 5v mini USB connection. This can come via the supplied 12V 'lighter' socket adaptor, by plugging it into a computer or by using a mains adaptor with a USB output which may supply a higher current and therefore possibly charge the unit quicker than a PC (which is limited by spec to 500mA)

The GPS device WILL be receiving a charge when its plugged into a PC to connect to Navigon Fresh. Mine inadvertantly went from nearly zilch to 2/3 charge as I was connected.

If this is against Navigons warranty, then they should advise users not to connect it to their PC, as the USB cable connection, WILL charge it up!!

Question
Advice re using this product please
I have never owned a sat nav before so was really keen to find out how it works. I'm a new driver and thought this would be really helpful especially with the lane assist facility.

Have tried looking at the instructions from the website but am totally confused. I've managed to attach the sat nav to the cradle and switched it on, but that's about it! Every time I press 'new destination' and try to type in an address on the keyboard e.g. the name of a town, most of the letters on the keyboard go a faded grey colour!

I've also noticed that in the top left hand corner there's an orange square symbol and when I press it, it states 'Isle of Man'. Does that mean I've got maps for the Isle of Man, I thought it had UK/ROI on it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question
Battery re-recharging
I bought one of these sat navs yesterday. What is the quickest way of re-charging the battery? As I only have the in-car charger (plugged into the cigarette lighter) I am currently re-charging the battery that way whilst the car is sitting on my driveway. Looking on Navigon.com the manual states that it will take approx 6 hours to re-charge. Is that correct?
