yes you can, although you will have to cut the end of the grips off and move the handle bar controls and grips fervor inward leaving space on the exposed bar to fit the bar ends

Can I raise the handlebars myself?

the handle bars can not be raised on this bike as the handle bar stem is clamped around the fork tube. the only way to raise the handle bars will be to buy another stem with a steeper angle to it. or a 'stem raiser' which goes under the stem

unfortunately it is not possible to raise the bars any higher than they are on the bike without purchasing a stem raiser. this is because this bike an advanced aheadset system. Your local halfords store can order in a stem raiser for your bike. please contact your local halfords store for full details

i'm not sure of the length, but, you can take off very easily the front and rear wheels as they are both quick release making it quite a short length

Halfords supplied and fitted the Topeak Super Tourist DX rack...it's excellent.

The only front rack I could get to fit was the Zefal f Raider Front Rack {a very good rack, but Halfords was unable to supply/fit}

The Carrera Subway 2 Hybrid Commuter Bike would be suitable for light trails in dry weather conditions as it has slick tyres, more suitable for road commuting.

answer 2
The bike clearly is a simple robust construction that is built primrily around road / city users with some trials use. I have owned this bike for 5 months and would recommend that if the main purpose was trials use then a better option would be to buy a mountain bike with front suspension and then fit some armadillo nimbus tyres so you get the comfort and also the on road performance. That said I do use it for trials about 10 % of my journey time and have had no problems but would think if it was more like 40% plus then I would want a softer ride. On road the bike is excellent and I would recommend it to any daily commuter
