No - This Car Vacuum can only be used when powered from the cigarette lighter in your car.
We have 2 alternative products which can indeed be used around the house as well as in the car.
The Halfords Rechargeable Car Vacuum Cleaner (942268) uses a charging stand which plugs into your home's mains electricity. This means the vacuum is completely cordless and can be used anywhere! Alternatively the Halfords Advanced Wet & Dry Car Vacuum (830067) is a very versatile handy vac. It is fully rechargeable and can be charged from mains electricity or your car's cigarette lighter.

The Halfords 12Volt Car Vacuum is designed to connect directly into your cars cigar lighter. You will need to match the output of the cigar lighter in amps (normally around 12amps) for this product to work.
