I have a 55 reg Mazda 6 TS2 and was told by Halfords it couldn't be fitted "because of the Bose stereo system". However, I contacted the manufacturer and they told me it could be fitted with the additional parts:

SOT-077 - converting the Mazda plugs to ISO

10-400 - speaker to low level conversion lead

Yes this kit can be fitted to a Mercedes C220 CDi. If it is the standard radio unit then a standard SOT is needed.
No fasica trims are required.

The IO Play IP Stereo car kit does not come with a Bluetooth adaptor.
Make your iPod Bluetooth with iO iPod
Bluetooth Adaptor (Opt Accessory [iO-BTAPOD]).

The kit will work with iPhone 3G fine. When you plug it in, it asks if you want to switch to flight mode. Just press no. All works great. I went to Halfords in Coalville Leicester to enquire about purchasing, fitting etc but was told extra cables and bluetooth adapter would be needed. Putting the price over £200. Also not very helpfull. So I went to carphone warehouse. they have them with free fitting for £99 including the bluetooth adapter. I took one away on the day and fitted it within the hour. It wires inbetween the stereo and the speakers. You'll need to know the colour codes for the factory unit and standard iso colours (available on the net). dead easy, fitted to my 5 series. Works as music player and hands free car kit.

Sound quality of mic on this device

Ive purchased the IO play for my car, when i ring people they cant seem to hear me properly. Does anyone else have this problem? is this normal as i had a hands free kit in my old car and that was fine...is something wrong with the wiring or fitting? thanks

Yes, indeed it will pair both devices, one for handsfree (nokia) & one for music (iPhone)
However,you will need to connect the nokia 1st on handsfree only then the iPhone for music otherwise the iPhone will take both channels

When you say 'either of the adaptors' we assume you mean the vehicle adaptor (to wire it to the car) and the iPod Bluetooth adaptor (to connect it to your iPod)? The answer is yes and yes. The vehicle specific adaptor (known as a sounds on top lead) is available in-store from £19.99 (not on-line due to the number of possible applications) and the Bluetooth adaptor is supplied in the box with the iO Play exclusively from Halfords.

The iO Play IP Stereo Car Kit is compatible with iPod classic (All generations) ,iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Min & iPhone, but not iPod Shuffle.
