You need to go to your local Halfords store and have a qualified installer take a look at this as without seeing it there could be an issue with the connection to the car. This is a paid for fitting service. However, the JVC KD PDR61 Car Stereo can be plugged into the store's test rig to establish if there is an issue with the unit before addressing the potential issue with connection to the car.

The JVC KD-PDR61 CD Player is a made for iPod car stereo. You can connect your iPod directly to the JVC KD-PDR61 and play your music on board. Operation is easy with information displayed on the head unit with the same categories and layer as on your iPod, and it gives your full control of the iPod via the stereo. However, this JVC head unit is not compatible with iPod Shuffle.

The JVC KD-PDR61 uses either the USB or the 3.5mm jackplug to play auxiliary source's. It would depend on what hardware you are using to connect your phone. Some files might not be accessible via the USB port. It would be best to consult your phone's user manual or for more specialist information please contact your local Halfords store who can also advise you further.
