To combat the issue you have, locate the box in the front holes, positioning the rear of the roof box to where you want it, then drill addition holes to allow you to enter the U-bolts at the rear of the box. Use the plastic black stickers provided to seal up all the unused holes to avoid water getting into the roof box.
