I have run the cable including antenna under the centre console & traffic info is picked up with no problem, in both UK & France. Out of site, out of mind & works fine.

Yes. I put in 15 way points when planning a sponsored cycle ride between churches (search OHCT) so I suppose waypoints are unlimited, subject to processing/storage power

With the lifetime update service Garmin release up to four mapping updates each year however the frequency that you update your device is down to you.

I live between UK & Spain and drive over alot. I too found that maps changed quickly & we`re expensive. Really the secret seems to be don`t update the maps, buy a new satnav. I know that sounds stupid, but the maps are the expensive bit not the actual electronic device. Found this out after trying to get new maps for my Euro satnav. It was cheaper to buy a new unit with updated maps, 2 years gaurantee (In Spain) than to just buy the maps. A manufactures con to sell the maps. Hope this has helped.

I can't hear the directions in the car - you stand no chance on a motorbike.

EBay it and buy a dedicated unit for motorbikes - not what you want to hear, of course.
