it will remove it however you might want to pre-soak the tape with mild soapy water prior to using removal agent.
it will make your life so much easier doing it this way.
method...
pre soak tape marks for about 1-2hrs (and i dont mean dripping wet just dampen the marks)
use removal product (test on hidden area of vehicle prior to use) on affected areas (do not use abrasive pad as this will leave fine scratches and possibly ruin your finish) personally i use a string type cloth or a soft sponge.

reason for testing on hidden area first is that the cleaning agent may affect the colour of your trim and if organic trim (leather etc) it may leave a dry patch so be carefull when using cleaning products on your interior.
i hope this helps.

Does this stuff remove sap from bodywork?

it does not officially state that it removes tree sap from surfaces, you could try it but if it dosnt succeed they dont claim that it does.
my personal experience with tree sap that has fallen onto a vehicles surface is to treat it as follows.
find or purchase a strong plastic spatula relatively thin at the end (some are quite rounded at the end), use this to take off the main lump of sap (provided it has gone hard), be very gentle when trying to remove as u may scratch your paintwork even with a plastic spatula. Do NOT try and remove like you would remove wallpaper this will definitely destroy your paintwork. Once u have as much off as possible (you should be left with a kind of sap outline still) i then use t-cut to eradicate then outline from the sap.
The alternative is to use chemical based "solvents" which will dissolve the sap to a stage where it can be wiped off with an appropriate cloth, after which you would need to either t-cut and wax or just wax to restore your original finish.

the result you get all depends on how long the sap has been sitting on the vehicle.
Also make sure that it is sap you are trying to remove and not honeydew which is a waste product dropped from aphids and the like. the two have very different removal methods.

Yes it will help to remove stickers from the side of a car, you first need to remove as much of the glossy part or top layer of the sticker as possible, and then use this product to remove the sticky residue left behind.

Question
Chewing gum removal.
Previous owners liked chewing gum, is 3 gum marks in passenger side carpet, and some gum left in door wells, i scraped with hoover to remove some but need something to remove the sticky left over gum.

Will this product remove it safely from the carpet as well as door well? Would a brush help for the carpet gum? Really ruins the otherwise perfect car I have bought.

De-Solv-It Sticky stuff remover - 908285 is good but is not designed for use on cars. So to make sure there's no damage to the paint work it would be best to use a product specifically designed for cars. Something like a tar remover would work fine. I would recommend Autoglym's Intensive Tar Remover - 140632 on Halfords.com
