how to fit roof bars 401
I have tried to fit halfords value roof bars 401 using fitting kit k05, to a citroen zx 5 door hatchback 1994 model. The problem i am having is when i open the car doors and position the fitting kit in place, do i need to go under both rubber door seals and be on bare metal. i have tried both ways and found that the door is no longer waterproof ie water can come through where the fitting kit is locating. if i fit on top of the seal then the seal is no longer working. if i go under the seal the roof bar feet do not sit on the car roof!

I had a similar issue on my Qashqai. There is a tiny sketch showing the kit inside/under the rubber seal. I had to pull away about 3" (was attached with double sided tape) and locate a spiggot into a hitherto hidden hole in the framework.

In the Halfords value fitting kit you will get the feet with the roof bars and the fitting kit which will include the roofbar clamps. The Halfords value 401 roof bar will fit the mk4 Golf. If you have 3 door you will need fitting kit K20. If you have a 5 door you will need fitting kit K22

I recently purchased these roof bars and fitting kit for a Saab 900s (1995), but now need to sell the car. Please let me know what other cars (make/model/year) these will fit.
