The details on the product say that it is suitable for cars from 1998 I believe so I can't see a reason why not.

i have put this in my 1990 Mini at the branch they said it was ok for any car in fact it was higher speck but reading the label it says for 1998 or newer cars? was i given correct info please

Personally I don't see why there should be any problem.

I would be happy to use this in my 1967 MG though it's worth looking at the alternatives.

If you find a cheaper alternative at Halfords that suits your car then I would use it.

Halfords Advanced Antifreeze & Coolant Concentrate is the most suitable product from our range for the cooling system of your 2000 Mini being that it is an OAT based product similar to that recommended by the manufacturer.

BMW recommend the use of hybrid coolants meeting their spec BMW N 600 69.0. These differ significantly from an OAT product such as Halfords Advanced Antifreeze.
Assuming that the cooling system is currently filled with BMW approved fluid it might be better to use Halfords "Standard" Antifreeze and change it on a 2 yearly cycle.

Please could you give a more detailed spec for this product
Please could you confirm whether your advanced antifreeze is OAT or HOAT. If it's HOAT, please could specify the additives. In particular, please could you specify whether it contains silicates and whether it provides adequate protection for aluminium radiators and heads?

No, this product is based on modern Organic Acid Technology (OAT).
Since about 2005 Alpha Romeo have been recommending this for new vehicles but I believe that most 156's were built before this date.

We could not find this vehicle in our database but all the Freelanders I can see built after 1997 used an Organic Acid Techology (OAT) coolant.
Halfords Advanced Antifreeze and Coolant is this type so should be fine.

It is never advised to mix two different types of antifreeze. This may be perfectly safe, but not advised as the mix (antifreeze to water) can never be accuratly measured if just topping up with antifreeze
