I would clean using WD-40 as that will also help to stop moisture setting in again.

Yes it should help clean up the contact points. Alternatively you could try a rust remover and a wire brush.

Having bought this, I've found it does NOT leave any [lubricant] residue. It evaporates pretty quickly too!

Question
Will it remove the Green oxidation
i had some trouble with my electric windows due to some of that green colloured oxidation on the terminal connector.

i done a quick cleanup and got the windows working again but still have a lot of the green oxidation in the hard to reach places of the connectors.

will this remove this type of Green oxidation and protect the terminals in the future for this issue?

and will i need another product like a silocon spray to spray over the conector to stop this from happing in the future.

basically i want rid of the Green oxidation and will this product do it.

i really dont want to be pouring in a baking soda and white viniger mix into my connectors if i can help it, i know that baking soda and viniger works great on this type of Green oxidation battery terminals but not too keen on using it on connectors male and female plug and sockets for items such as electric windows.

thanks in advance

Hi, thanks for your interest in Halfords products. The electrical contact cleaner is designed more as a degreaser and will not remove the green oxidation. The product is a gentle solvent and doesn’t contain anything that will protect the terminal after cleaning.
