Hi, thanks for your interest in Halfords 2 Tonne Trolley Jack & Case. Please check your vehicle as the lifting range of this jack is 14 -38 cm and designed for car use so may not lift high enough for your vehicle. A more suitable product would be Halfords 4 x 4 2.25 T jack ( cat code 921452 ) which has a lifting range of 15-52 cm.

Question
Can these trolley jacks be repaired?
I have one of these trolley jacks and after 18 months of occasional weekend use it has started leaking oil. I have also just found it will no longer pump up to the full height. Can this be repaired or do I need a replacement? If it can be repaired, what do I need to do?

To answer your question, no. However, you may find it has a hydraulic fluid top-up/refill plug which will enable you to replace the leaking fluid and keep the jack working for a while. Make sure the plug washer is in good condition or else there will be pressure leakage causing the jack to slowly go down. Don't forget to always use axle stands once you've jacked up your vehicle to the required height.

We consider trolley jacks to be safety critical products and whilst it is possible to repair some jacks we would recommend using a fully qualified hydraulic engineer.

Question
Can I buy spare parts for the jack
I have one of these jacks and used it frequently. Where the handle joins the piston for operating the jack a small piece of metal has broken. Is it possible to replace the part as it is a very simple job which would take 5 minutes at most. In the mean time the jack is unusable.
