Autosol Polish sold for chrome but pack warning re chrome
I was looking for a metal polish for aluminium & chrome for my motorbike. The pack however says "not recommended for use on mirror finish surfaces e.g...... chrome motorcycle trim, chrome finish plastic..." I have a lot of shiny chrome on my bike hence buying 2 tubes of metal polish from you. There was no mention of this on your website... Is it any good on chrome or not, please clarify. Thank you.

i used this product on the cross bar of my bike....it took the marking off and returned a shine....but it is an abrasive so i wouldnt chance it on a "mirrored" piece of metal.

Hi, Autosol Metal Polish is not recommended for Motorbike Chrome trim. We do however have a specialised motorbike polish that will work. See 228122 Holts Motorcycle Chromo and Aluminium Polish. You can exchange the Autosol product for this by going into store.

This polish is a more general purpose metal polish. The other is more application specific. It suggests it'll remove blue heat tarnish from exhaust pipes etc.

Hi, thanks for your interest in Halfords. There is no difference between 636217Autosol Metal Polish and 217257 Autosol Metal Polish. We require two different version of the same product for merchandising purposes in store. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. We will look to make it clearer and easier on the site.
