Whilst Halfords DOT4 Universal Brake & Clutch Fluid would probably be OK in the braking system of your 1999 Ford Focus 1.8, Ford specify a higher performance fluid for most of their modern applications for which Halfords DOT 5.1 High Performance Brake & Clutch Fluid would be a more suitable match.

Question
Compatable with k11 1.3 micra 1999 reg?
Hello there i was wondering whether this brake fluid would be Compatable with my k11 1.3 micra 1999 reg?

as i was going to draw the old fluid from the cylinder and bleed the brakes and fill up with new fluid.

also as the rear brakes are drum do i need to do anything with them e.g bleed them or is this only applicable with disks? Thanks in advance

Hi, thanks for your interest in Halfords DOT4 Universal Brake & Clutch Fluid 500ml. As long as the vehicle handbook specifies either DOT 3 or DOT 4 (or the cap on the master cylinder reservoir) then Halfords DOT 4 will be fine/compatible.If bleeding the brakes after a repair, or to change the brake fluid, we always recommend bleeding at all four wheels.
