i didnt use a primer for mine. i just brushed them down heavily with a wire brush, then dry brushed the dust off, and simply applied the paint, and its worked a gem

I've done 2 cars with this caliper paint now - both without primer, and have had no problems.

dont see why not tip dont use brake paint on your down pipes it will smoke and burn off i used it on my exhaust not good lots of smoke and burned off

No. The brake caliper will not get hot enough to fully cure the engine enamel.

As far as I am aware no primer is necessary. Just clean thoroughly removing loose rust.

yes but give them a good sanding this will get all the old dust off and give it a key

It really depends on the type of paint already on the caliper and when it was applied.  If it is OEM it should be fine.  If it’s a paint that you’ve previously applied yourself check compatibility on a small area first.  If it hasn’t wrinkled within a couple of hours of application it will be fine.

can i prime callipers with 1k etch primer and can i clear coat with 2k clear after applying stickers to the callipers/Can i also spray this paint .
The callipers are Brembos which had a thick coating of paint and lacquer as original.I would like to spray it on what thinners can you use and do you sell any .thanx

i'd just use the paint out of the tin use a brush 3 coats should do it has a nice gloss finish
i have herd you can lacguer it but never try'd it

We do not supply Halfords with a 1k etch primer so I am unable to comment on this. It would depend on the base resin used in it. The Halfords caliper paint can be used without a primer though. Likewise with the 2K clear without knowing composition I am unable to give a definitive answer. I would suggest spraying on a piece of scrap metal first and testing compatibility. If it doesn't wrinkle it will be fine.

The Halfords Brake Caliper paint is specifically made for brake calipers and has a maximum working temperature of around 80 degC.
