Will a Thule Motion 800 roof box be too big for a 5 series (2011) estate?
I have checked the roof measurement (with tailgate open) and this would mean the box would overhang the top of the screen by 20cm - is this too much?

Although there are no specifics of which size of roof boxes fit specific cars, we would advise that you purchase a box which is a suitable size for your car. Avoid the roof box overhanging the windscreen and make sure there is enough clearance at the back to be able to gain full access to the boot. Also please check the maximum load capacity of your vehicle.

The Thule Motion 800 Silver Glossy Roof Box should be suitable for your VW Touran. You will also require roof bars to fit the roof box please see our roof bars look up tool to find he correct roof bars for your vehicle. With a roof box you must ensure that the roof box would not be overhanging the windscreen and make sure there is enough clearance at the back to be able to gain full access to the boot, for further advice please visit your local store.

The Thule Motion 800 should be suitable for your Volvo V50, however we would suggest that you check the measurements of the roof box and ensure that the roof box would not be overhanging the windscreen and make sure there is enough clearance at the back to be able to gain full access to the boot.
