direction
does satnav show true direction of travel,
eg if you are driving south will it show south in front of you.
One other comments says it is always set to North so driving south will show you going backwards

It depends on how you set up the options. There are quite a few ways of setting up the display. It can show that you are heading towards the top of the screen, and this can also have the addition of a compass needle showing which way is North. Or it can be set such that North is at the top of the screen. You just have to play with the menus.

Yes you can add POI. Dont do it whilst driving though, as you will proberly crash navigating through the mene.

No it doesnt cover Greece or Cyprus. For these countries you will need to purchase the Greece map which I believe covers both .

Satnav maps are never perfect. Create a tomtom account for your device and upload the latest official map update, then the map share. maps are pretty good UK, and I have had no problems in 3 years with TT. Speed limits are pretty unreliable, especially on changes in the last 12 months, or long term roadworks.
I drive a lot in France, and the newest autoroute-toll junctions are not yet mapped accurately. You will also find a lot new of roundabouts everywhere.

if you purchased your tomtom recently your update costs are nil as you can download new maps within so many days of puchase according to the details on the back of the box your tomtom was in when you bought it.

Under its setting there are many languages to choose including Deutsch which I understand is the same as German.

Speed camera should work automatically with a pre loaded database. A subscription is then required to keep the unit up to date.
