Possibly it needs proper regulation (cable may be too loose). Take it back to the shop fro adjustment.

sounds like a faulty shifter to me....mine works perfectly although i did have to change the brake levers so that they fit properly with the shifters...the problem was that the triggers were catching on the brake lever housing which was preventing me from pressing the trigger all the way...is the rear derailleur moving at all? id just take it back to the shop and theyll sort it

The Carrera Centos is only available in the red colour shown. We do offer other Carrera bikes which may suit the style you are after with a similar spec to that of the Centos.

The Carrera Centos uses an 8 Speed 11-32 tooth Cassette so you could upgrade to a 9 or 10 speed cassette at a later date should you choose to do so. The frame and forks will also accept Hydraulic brakes with a rotor size of upto 183mm. The Carrera Warranty states the following with regards to usage: "All Terrain (ATB/MTB) and Jump style bikes are designed for on road and moderate off road use only. They are not intended for extreme off road conditions, severe downhill riding or for jumping and stunt riding.".

You are still able to have your 6-week service if you have your bike delivered to your home with proof of purchase - this will need to be booked in with your local store and this free service also excludes Trax boxed bikes.

Upgrades will depend upon your own personal requirements, Should you spend a majority of time off road you may find that a change of suspension fork, brakes or tyres will make a considerable difference to the bike. Alternatively, if the bike is for general use, cock pit changes or lighter components may make a more beneficial change to the way your bike rides. All upgrades are of a personal choice. Should you require any further advice please go to your local Halfords store where a member of staff will be happy to help you further.
