Yes, you can choose to avoid them totally or not. I opted not to avoid them to travel from North Wales to London and it sent me onto the Toll Road, which is what I wanted.

Does this direct you right to the door, eg destination on left in 50 yards?
I am a delivery driver, often at night. We have an old navman at work which I sometimes get to use. It directs me to the actual house (or certainly very close to it). It tells me which side of the street the house is on and how far it is. This is essential for me, Does this give these instructions?

this also will take you as close as you need to be..I tried this out using "home" and my destination was reached at my next door neighbours..so close enough

Yes even took me to the SS carpark at Heathrow. When we got to the ticket barrier I was told I had reached my destination.

It will certainly navigate to the correct location, not sure if it tells you which side of the street.
However if you could visit your local Halfords store a member of staff will be able to show you the device & answer any questions.

That is something you would have to ask the retail outlet where you bought it. Navman give you a 1 year limited warranty.
