I too felt streached, so I've replaced my 120mm stem with a 110mm one (O/S 31.8mm / 1 1/8"). Or buy new handlebar with 90mm reach (100mm fitted).

The standard length of the crank arms is 170mm, and you can fit slightly longer ones to increase the power output! this bike certainly benefits from a more compact chainset of 34/50 teeth.

they all say that the virtuoso is better built but now gone flying through the roof but i would go for the tdf as cheaper and better components and i would also go for large because your gurenteed your going to grow into the bike and that i will never be small

Based on your height we would recommend the large road bike though you should try the bike in store first for suitability. The Virtuoso is the better road bike and has the better components.

Question
Does this bike have a weight limit?
I've never had a road bike before but they don't look as tough as mountain bikes, would there be some sort of weight limit for the wheels/frame?

The Carrera TDF is a solid bike which should hold your weight fine. Make sure you keep the tyre pressure high whatever your weight because roadbikes dont like potholes and curbs etc.
Its not a mountain bike, and works best on flat road surfaces.

Halfords adult bikes are all tested to the same rider weight. Road bikes will generally feature double wall rims and will be reinforced at the welding points on the frame - so long as this bike was used solely for purpose as a road bike it would be suitable. If you have further concerns we would advise that you seek the advice of a trained BikeHut mechanic in store.

Question
Carrera TDF alternative cassette
I've bought a second (upgraded) set of wheels for my Carrera TDF and would like - if possible - to take the opportunity of lowering the overall gearing on this second wheelset by installing a cassette with a wider gearing range (ie: standard TDF cassette is 12-26 teeth, so something with 26-plus teeth on the biggest ring).
What limit does the existing front and rear derailleur set-up have.
I should add... great if it can be done with just a change of cassette, but I don't really want to go to the expense of replacing anything else.

Thanks in advance for any information.

The standard cassette of 12-26 is already as large as the rear mech is designed for, so you will need a 12-26t or smaller cassette to avoid having to change other components.
