I have spoken to Castrol and they stated that it was perfectly safe to use in a Petrol car. I use this in my Porsche with the backing of Porsche UK and Castrol UK so no problem.

SAE 5W-40 ACEA C3 for Petrol Engine
I am trying to buy engine oil for a 2008 Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 16v Petrol Engine. Handbook states Synthetic SAE 5W-40 ACEA C3. It is not available in store, or on your web site and if I input the registration on your web site, it states "no matching products" Any plans plan to stock this in the near future?

The last answer recommends the Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5w40 the spec for which specifically states it is NOT suitable for petrol engines: so the question remains unanswered

My vehicle takes 7.5l of oil. I have some Havoline 5w30 Part Synthetic left over, can I mix the two?
My vehicle 04 LR Defender Td5, requires oil of viscosity 5w30 or 5w40. Semi-synthetic or better.

Yes there should be no problem mixing oils from different brands or quality. Though using a much lower quality oil would naturally reduce the overall quality of the oil).
