Paraflu comes in a number of different types and for a 2001 Fiat the fluid is likely to be of a different type to the Organic Acid Technology (OAT) that is used for this Halfords fluid. However since about 2005 Fiat have moved to OAT technology and I don't believe that using this product will give you any issues if you are completely refilling the system.

Question
Jaguar Antifreeze Availablility
Hi, I recently purchased a 2003 Jaguar XKR. I was going to buy some antifreeze for the winter and the Jaguar manual says 'only use Jaguar Orange antifreeze, specification WSS M97B44–D. Will I only be able to purchase this through Jaguar or do Halfords offer a similar product,
Thanks

The Ford WSS-M97B44-D specification is for an Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolant. Halfords Advanced Antifreeze is such a fluid and should be fine for this application.

Vauxhall's of this age would have been fitted with an OAT coolant when built. The Halfords Ready Mixed Top-up is of this type and should be fine.

Halfords Ready Mixed Top Up Antifreeze is an advanced product based on what is known as Organic Acid Technology (OAT). This is not the type of product that was used when Volvo built the car. We generally advise people not to mix different types of antifreeze but if you have already topped up your system then I would not worry too much. No harm is likely to occur. However most coolant lasts between 2 and 5 years so when you need to have your coolant completely replaced get a little extra and use that for topping up.

In principle yes. You do not give any indication of the type of bike but I would not expect there to be any issues unless it is a very old machine. In fact many Japanese manufacturer's like a silicate free product which is just what Halfords Ready Mixed Top-Up Antifreeze is.

Question
Can I use Halfords Advanced Antifreeze top up in my 1970 MGB
I have flushed out and re-filled with Advanced Antifreeze before reading that it is suitable for cars after 1998.

Does this mean that it is not suitable for cars that are older, should I drain it and replace with ordinary antifreeze and why is it not suitable?

OAT based coolants, such as Halford's Advanced Antifreeze, were introduced in the mid 1990s and as such they are not generally recommended for vehicles produced before that date. For older vehicles ,such as your 1970 MGB, we tend to recommend the standard Halfords Antifreeze as this is more like the technology that would have been around at that time. That said, we do not believe that our OAT based coolant will cause any damage to your engine even though it wouldn't have been our first choice of coolant for a vehicle of this age.
