When plugged into the mains the red light is on but the needle is not moving - should it be? Is the unit charging?

I had mine on charge for 24 hours and the needle did not move. Red light went off so I thought that was it fully charged. Needle still remained at "empty". Took it back for refund as it never turned over the engine.

I have the answer to this question now. You have to press the button for the needle to move across to show how much charge there is.

Question
Dynamic Jump Start
I used my Dynamic Jump Start for the first time today as my car would not start. The car started straight away but would not stop revving reallly fast. I turned the engine off and back on again a few times but it was still doing it. I waited about 30 mins and tried the car again and it started and was ok, the revving had stopped. Has anyone any ideas why this happened. I am scared to use the Jump Start again in case it does the same thing.

Your problem isn't with the Dynamic Jump Start. It is probably with a sticking throttle linkage, or similar.

Hi, thanks for your interest in Dynamic Jump Starter. The jump starter should not cause this revving. We advise that you take your vehicle to the local garage to investigate this problem.

It is not a battery charger. You use it to over-ride your flat battery to start the car.

Hi, thanks for your interest in Dynamic Jump Starter. We suggest that you charge the battery for 36 hours for maximum charge every 3 months and after every use. Using a household socket for charging is suitable.

Question
Can the dynamic jump starter be used straight from the box and how many jump-starts can you get out of it in-between charging?
My Ford Galaxys is parked outside and the car battery dies a lot during the colder winter months. Even after I get it push or jump started in the morning the battery is often dead again when I come out of work. Depending where I am parked this can be a nightmare. How many times can the jump starter be used in-between charges?

Hi, thanks for your interest in Dynamic Jump Starter. The rating of the battery is 17 Ah battery fitted. This will supply approx 200 cold cranking amps of starting power to boost your existing battery to start the car.

The A/C charger supplied is a trickle charger but leaving on permanently is a waste. The unit needs to be fully charged after each use and every 3 months if not used.

You cannot jump start your car via the cigarette connector as the fuse for the socket and your vehicle internal wiring behind the dash is not suitable for jump starting. The battery leads must be used.

2.2L Diesel Car
Hi
Would this start a 2003 Mercedes C Class with a 2.2l diesel engine?

It wouldn't start my 2.2l diesel Civic, so I wouldn't take the chance. Even on full charge, all I got was a cough and splutter from the engine and had to get someone round with a heavier duty unit which started it first time. This one worked perfectly when I had a temperamental 1.3 petrol, but just didn't have the oomph for the larger engine.

Question
Why does the charging light keep going out?
I bought this today and plugged in the charger. The red light comes on initially, but goes off within a minute or so. The display shows absolutely no charge (it's right down in the red). Why does the light keep going out, and how can I get the unit to charge?

Press the red button to see how much charge there is. Takes a long time to charge initially.

The red light is intermittent on mine to but still seems to charge ok
