The instructions state the power-pack should be charged once every 6 months for 12 hours. This depends on frequency of use however. I have successfully jump-started a car (Rover Metro) which was left unused for approximately 2 months.

From my experience, the LED lights when charging. Your fault could be a faulty LED? Have you tried using the power-pack after its charge?

The Dynamic Jumpstarter (as all jump starters) will not start a car that has a 100% flat/discharged battery. If the car battery is completly dead it will need replacement.

Question
Can I use this to jumpstart a 6v car ?
I have a 1954 Ford Popular, with 6v electrics. Although it has a good (new) battery, after sitting during the winter, it is difficult to start. Can I use the Dynamic Starter to bost the battery to aid initial start up ? Please not that the car is 6 volt, not 12.
Thanks, Bob.

We do not recommend using a 12v jump starter on a 6v car as it may damage the car's electrics.

Question
Dynamic Jumpstart has not worked?
I charged it for 24 hours - however the red light did not come on - does this mean the internal battery was not charging.? When I followed the instructions and used it on my vehicle's battery there was no response at all. How do I know if the jumpstart was properly charged? I know nothing about engines but from reading the reviews thought that this would do the job - one comment said they had not used a far larger vehicle than I have for 6 months and it worked first time - I have a tiny daewoo matiz.

If the red light did not come on then it was not charging or was already fully charged. That or there is a problem with either the product or the AC adaptor.

The charger does have a gauge on the front of it, pressing the red button will tell you if it is charged.

The red light should be on while charging. Please check that the charging lead is connected properly. If the red light still does not come on while charging, please seek assistance at your local Halfords store.

Can this product used to re charge a flat car battery?

If you mean a car battery that is not fitted to a car, then no. If you attach the leads then the flat battery will drain power from the charger, but only while the charger has more charge. Effectively both units would end up with 6 volts and be useless.

Not sure what would happen if you left the charger plugged in to the mains though...

You would be best attaching jump leads from a running car to the dead battery to get a full charge.

No Dynamic Jumpstarter is intended to provide enough power to jump start an engine. It will not recharge a battery.

Yes it does, although it won't charge as fully as through the AC adaptor.

It also has a cigarette lighter socket so you can use it to run 12V appliances from it.
