I have stupidly filled a diesel engine with the petrol engine oil. What difference will it make?

It won't matter. Just leave the oil in and it will be fine.

If the correct recommendation for the vehicle as identified from our instore CRL is Halfords 10W/40 Part Synthetic Diesel then its unlikely that fitting Halfords 10W/40 Part Synthetic will cause any issues in this particular case. To be absolutely sure we need to identify the exact vehicle to which the product has been fitted so please resubmit your query and include the make, model, fuel type, engine size and year of manufacture to allow us to look up the OEM requirements for this application. Question
I use two types of Halfords engine oil, what is the difference?
I use Halfords 10W/40 part synthetic motor oil in my petrol engined car and Halfords 10W/40 part synthetic diesel oil in my London taxi.
As both oils meet international spec. API SL ACEA A3 B3 why are they not compatible, what is the difference in the two oils?

Performance requirements are different for both engine types requiring specific additives for the oil.
Hence one for petrol & one for diesel engines.

If your bike recommends the use of an oil meeting either JASO MA or MA1 then Halfords 10w40 Part Synthetic Oil oil will be fine.

Neither of these specifications are claimed on Halfords 10W40/ Part Synthetic Oil. If you are looking for an oil that meets VW 502 00 or VW 500 00 then Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Oil would be the best choice from our range.

Mobil Super S is now called Mobil Super 2000 which we do stock. Yes, putting in Halfords 10w40 with Mobil Super S 10w40 is fine
