Yes this RAC Sat Nav does give voice commands.

As far as I'm aware you can indeed use the sat nav while plugged in to the car, pc and the main power socket in the wall while charging. Although if it's plugged in to the pc /lappy via USB and is updating or you are accessing its files it won't be navigating you till you tell it to or you finish updating.

If your device was supplied with an SD card, it will be required for the Sat Nav to work, the maps are on it.
However later models will work without an SD card as maps are stored in the device memory.

The device comes with a home synch program. You can link your device to your PC and buy lots of differant things after purchase including European Maps

Most SD card should work. Just avoid the really cheap cards or High Capacity cards

As a follow-on from this, to use the sync you may need to
download the relevant 'driver' to your PC or laptop. All drivers are

The RAC sat nav is designed for use in car.
To check if it possible to use it with your bike mount it may be worth going to your local Halfords store and get some advise and maybe try it out in your bag, to see if it is suitable.
