when fitting the unit The yellow mains lead in the back of the radio should have a constant power supply to it even when the car is switched off. And there is also a red power supply as well. this is only live when the ignition is on. The yellow lead is the one that will keep the memory for your radio

Question
Does this product turn off once car is off?
I brought this product some time ago, and i've noticed that when the car is switched off completely the product remains on, as in there is a red light around on/off button, is that normal or is it just my product as it has been causing some problems to the power of my car. If it is meant to switch off, could you please let me know how to do this. Thanks

Yes the product should turn off when you turn the car off. The product has to power supply's One is the yellow lead and the other is the red lead. The yellow lead should have a voltage flowing through it constanlty so when the car is switched off the radio keeps its memory. The red lead should only have a voltage flowing through it when the car is switched on or when the ignition is on. Yours sounds as if both are live all the time. So you might need to run a cable from the Heater fuse in the car to radio and take the power from that. This will give u a switch for the radio.

The N420i does not feature a detachable front panel. However, they are supplied with a blanking cover to both improve security when the vehicle is unattended and also to reduce dust ingress into the mechanism when not in use.
